Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Dr. Stefanie Lacoff has worked with many children and adults diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Dr. Lacoff believes strongly in making every effort to avoid the use of medication to manage symptoms. The first course of action is to implement a behavioral plan using a reward system and positive reinforcement. It is also important help parents learn techniques that will better manage disruptive or oppositional behaviors.
There are times when medication should be considered. When this is apparent, Dr. Lacoff will make an appropriate referral so that the child may be evaluated by a local child psychiatrist.
Parents may choose online or telephone sessions in order to discuss the struggles they face raising an ADHD child while learning strategies for better management of their symptoms.
